Dr. Richard Mitchell is a native of San Francisco, CA. His expertise is in the diagnosis and treatment of injuries to the shoulder, elbow, knee, and ankle sustained by athletes and non-athletes alike.
After graduating from Duke University, Dr. Mitchell pursued a master's in biological sciences at Stanford and went on to receive his medical degree from Tulane Univeristy in New Orleans. Following a residency in orthopaedic surgery at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC, Dr. Mitchell completed a fellowship in sports medicine at Washington University in St. Louis.
Dr. Mitchell's experience has included time as a consult physician for the orthopedic trauma team at the University of California-Davis and helping to set up clinics in remote areas of Baja California in Mexico.
Dr. Mitchell is board eligible with the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
