Dr. DeCarbo is a native of New Castle, Pennsylvania. He completed his medical school at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland where he graduated with honors. After graduation he completed a three year podiatric surgical residency at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio where he served as chief resident. Dr. DeCarbo then went on to complete a twelve month orthopedic foot and ankle fellowship at the Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Center in Columbus, Ohio. Following that, he completed a six week traveling fellowship both nationally and internationally learning advanced techniques in foot and ankle surgery. Upon completion of his fellowship Dr. DeCarbo was employed with the Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Center.
Dr. DeCarbo teaches and is active in research in the field of foot and ankle surgery. He continues to lecture at state, national and international meetings and his research is published in peer reviewed professional journals. He also is a review editor for the Journal of Foot & Ankle Surgery and Foot & Ankle Specialist.
Dr. DeCarbo is board qualified with the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in Foot, Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery. He is an associate member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association.
While treating all aspects of the foot and ankle, Dr. DeCarbo has a special interest in advanced reconstructive surgery, the utilization external fixation, total joint replacement and diabetic foot reconstructive surgery.
