Dr. Brockmeyer received his Doctor of Medicine and his Doctor of Philosophy degrees at the Yale University School of Medicine. Upon graduation from medical school, he was awarded membership of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical school honor society. He received his orthopedic residency training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.In 1988, Dr. Brockmeyer joined the practice that has become The Orthopedic Group, PC. Currently, he serves as the Managing Partner. He is also the Medical Director of the Orthopedic Institute at Monongahela Valley Hospital.

Over the past 27 years he has become well known in the Pittsburgh area for his excellence in total hip and total knee replacements. He has had further training and experience in newer techniques, such as the Birmingham Hip Resurfacing. He is one of the first surgeons to perform BHR surgery in Pennsylvania. His primary surgical interests include total joint replacement, general orthopedics and problems of the hand. Dr. Brockmeyer is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons.
