A Hip surgeon is an orthopedic surgeon who further specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of hip disorders and conditions.

Ari E. Pressman, MD

Dr. Pressman received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Ottawa, Canada. He completed subspecialty training in sports medicine, arthroscopy, revision joint replacement and the treatment of arthritis at the most advanced center in Canada. He had additional training in cartilage resurfacing at Brigham and Woman’s Hospital in Boston. He holds fellowships in orthopedic surgery, joint reconstruction, the treatment of sports injuries and allograft transplantation from the University of Ottawa and the University of Toronto.

Dr. Pressman holds a Masters of Health Education, and actively participates as a surgeon educator and lecturer. His areas of expertise include the biologic treatment of arthritis, total hip and knee replacements, revision joint replacements, sports injuries, as well as general orthopedics. He is highly skilled in performing the Birmingham Hip Resurfacing procedure.

Dr. Pressman was appointed Chief of Surgery of Uniontown Hospital in July 2007. He is Board certified by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons.
